Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas, captured the 115-pound crown by smashing and trashing Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) event last fall in New York City.
Was a bad weight cut to blame?
Jedrzejczyk attributed her poor performance to her near-death experience leading up to last November’s upset. She also pinned the loss on her doctor after accidentally getting blasted by her opponent in the UFC 217 co-main event.
Not this time!
The Pole is already at 122.5 pounds ahead of next week’s official UFC 223 weigh in event, held just one day prior to the “Ferguson vs. Khabib” PPV extravaganza inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
I know I’m not the expert here, but that’s still 7.5 pounds ahead of where she needs to be for the championship scale, and judging by this pic, I don’t know where that weight is coming from outside of water. This cut may not be “torture,” but it may not be a walk in the park, either.
