Gunnar is coming off a knockout loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio last July, which saw “Gunni” get poked in the eye a before going out for the count.
As for Magny, he is fresh off a dominant and unanimous decision win over former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Welterweight champion Carlos Condit, which went down last December at UFC 219.
In a highly-competitive 170-pound weight class, both Magny and Nelson need a win to stay relevant in a division filled with top contenders ready and willing to vie for the strap at the drop of a hat.
UFC Fight Night 130 is tentatively scheduled to feature a 170-pound showdown between Darren Till and Stephen Thompson, though the promotion has yet to make the fight official.
