Pro boxing commitments force MIMMA reshuffle

Pro boxing commitments have forced two finalists of this Saturday’s MIMMA card. Muhammad Meeraj and Keng Fai are both unable to compete due to commitments in the ring.

Fortunately the talent pool in Malaysia is so deep that MIMMA was able to find two experienced amateur fighters to step up at short notice and replace the boxers who are booked for a show in Singapore next month.

Syafiq Jamal (6-5) replaces Keng Fai while Derek Lim (2-3) steps up to fill Meeraj’s spot. Both the replacements are MIMMA veterans and reached the semi finals of this years tournament.

It means the lightweight and middleweight tournament finals have been changed. In the former Nathaniel Imang (4-1) will now face Syafiq Jamal (pictured) while the latter pits Mohd Fakhrul Izzat (13-1) against Derek Lim
