It was an impressive mixed martial arts (MMA) debut for world-class jiu-jitsu expert Garry Tonon (1-0) earlier today (Sat., Mar. 24, 2018) at ONE Championship 70 from inside Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, as the grappling wizard put a stop to Richard Corminal (4-4) via second-round TKO.
This was Tonon’s first professional fight and it certainly looked like he belonged in the cage. The elite BJJ practitioner did utilize his top game to land heavy elbows on Cormina in Round 2 to get the stoppage, but he did significant damage on the feet as well.

Following his scintillating MMA debut, Tonon took to Twitter to celebrate his arrival:
That was the most insane experience I've ever had in my life! Wow. I had a lot of fun, but fighting MMA is the craziest thing I've ever done by a factor of 10.

Only time will tell what Tonon is able to do against more established competition, but this is undoubtedly a big start to his MMA career.
