Bellator 196: “Henderson vs. Huerta” goes down at Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on April 6, 2018. The original card was supposed to feature James Gallagher (7-0) vs. Adam Borics (6-0), but when Gallagher withdrew with an injury Bellator MMA booked a new main event at Lightweight featuring two former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stars on top — former Sports Illustrated cover sensation “El Matador” Roger Huerta (24-9-1) and former 155-pound champion Benson Henderson (24-7).
Borics was shuffled to the co-main event slot to face Manuel Gaxhja (6-0), but Gaxhja has also been sidelined by injury. As a result, Bellator officials are now scrambling to find Borics a new opponent, which has to be incredibly frustrating for the Hungarian with the card only weeks away. He’s already prepared for two different men and now has to start over with a third ... if one is even available.
