When you get dazed in EA Sports UFC 3 Street Fighter, all you can do is stand there and wobble as the little birdies fly around your head while hoping that your opponent misses a button and fails to get off that fight-finishing combo.
Alexander Volkov did not miss a button.
That’s why he was able to stop Fabricio Werdum when they went to war in the UFC London main event earlier this month across the pond, which sent “Vai Cavalo” to the back of the championship line.
Sorry, no cheat codes in real life.
”I imposed my rhythm for three rounds, and I think I won the first three rounds, but I needed to breathe more,” Werdum told MMA Fighting. “Like when you’re playing on PlayStation and your energy goes down and then goes back up again. I got back up and my energy was too low to trade punches like that.”
I’m sure being 40 had something to do with it.
Werdum (23-8-1) will need to put together a pretty impressive run if he hopes to get back into the 265-pound title chase, as the Brazilian is just 3-3 since dethroning Cain Velasquez at UFC 188 back in June 2015.
In the meantime, Velasquez will be making his Octagon return, and the winner of this heavyweight showdown at UFC 225 in Chicago is likely to be next in line for a crack at the division crown.
With that said, who should “Vai Cavalo” fight next?
