Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender, Colby Covington, might want to consider a move up to heavyweight, considering how often he’s feuding with the promotion’s 265-pounders (like this guy).
Then again, Covington is universally hated by everyone, so I guess it doesn't matter.
His latest run in came against heavyweight power puncher Derrick Lewis, who kept his “Chaos” to a minimum with these disparaging remarks. Covington, as you would expect, caught wind of them and had a friendly, non-offensive retort.
Just kidding about that last part.
“Lewis is a fat piece of trash,” Covington told BJ Penn Radio (via Sherdog). “Let’s be honest. He could barely even touch his toes. I’m overhearing he’s calling me preppy. Oh what, I’m preppy because I’m educated and I’m a handsome man with an eight pack?”
Warning: WWE-style promo ahead.
“Derrick Lewis is a complete joke,” he said. “Last time he came to American Top Team, he got left in a stretcher by Steve Mocco. The heavyweight division is the weakest division in the UFC. Come on, Tim Silvia was heavyweight champ and he had two left feet.”
At least they’re not creamy.
Covington is without a fight at the moment, but has his sights set on UFC welterweight champion TyQuil Woodley. The feeling does not appear to be mutual, however, and there are plenty of 170-pound fish in the sea.
As for Lewis, he’s fresh off this thrilling knockout and will likely remained sidelined until this heals. While “Black Beast” will be the first to admit he’s no Adonis, I can say with some degree of certainty that no stretchers were needed for his post-fight medical care.
