UFC 222 ‘Embedded’ video blog (Ep. 5): Not weird, just ... weird

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend with Cris Cyborg defending her women’s featherweight title against Octagon newcomer Yana Kunitskaya in the five-round main event.

Former lightweight kingpin Frankie Edgar takes over the co-main event slot in hopes of turning away 145-pound up-and-comer Brian Ortega, who comes into the bout on short notice, while grapple ace Mackenzie Dern makes her Octagon debut against TUF grad Ashley Yoder.

As we inch closer to this Saturday night’s (March 3, 2018) action inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the promotion will roll out another round of “Embedded” video blogs focusing on all six combatants, continuing with episode five in the video above.

On Episode 5 of UFC 222 Embedded, bantamweight Sean O’Malley weighs his options for Vegas entertainment then rewatches his opponent’s last fight. Bantamweight Cat Zingano embraces her return to action with her longtime coach. Featherweight Brian Ortega prepares specifically for Frankie Edgar’s striking style. Strawweight Mackenzie Dern trains at the UFC Performance Institute, where she crosses paths with her opponent Ashley Yoder. UFC 222 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the women’s featherweight championship bout at UFC 222 on Saturday, March 3 on Pay-Per-View.
