Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just a few weeks away from its UFC 223: “Ferguson vs. Khabib” pay-per-view (PPV) event, taking place Sat., April 7, 2018 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with “Prelims” airing on UFC Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1.
And because we are not no longer bloodthirsty savages, mixed martial arts (MMA) is now regulated in “The Empire State,” which means every bout will have a trained referee, as well as three cageside judges.
Dan Miragliotta, Todd Anderson, Keith Peterson, and Rob Hinds will all don the black rubber gloves, according to Newsday, while David Bruce, Glenn Trowbridge, David Tirelli, Christopher Lee, and Derek Cleary will take turns at the official folding table.
It should be noted that Anderson was the referee who let Germaine de Randamie repeatedly cream Holly Holm after the bell at the UFC 208 event in early 2017. Miragliotta, meanwhile, blew the call in the Weidman-Mousasi fiasco just a few weeks later.
UFC 223 will feature Tony Ferguson battling Khabib Nurmagomedov for the 155-pound strap Conor McGregor refused to defend, while strawweight champion and UFC 223 co-headliner Rose Namajunas aims to prove her first win over Joanna Jedrzejczyk wasn’t a fluke.
