UFC 225: Robert Whittaker vs Yoel Romero official for June 9 in Chicago

It’s officially official.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will crown a new middleweight champion — or hold on to its existing one — when Robert Whittaker defends his 185-pound title against top contender Yoel Romero, a rematch from their UFC 213 brouhaha which “The Reaper” won by unanimous decision.

Round six will get underway in the UFC 225 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, locked and loaded for Sat., June 9, 2018 inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois, in what will mark Whittaker’s first fight back since that nasty case of Staph infection.

While he was gone, Romero kept himself at the top of the leaderboard by damn-near killing Luke Rockhold. Working in his favor, at least in terms of a rematch, is the fact that both Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre are no longer interested in fighting.
