NSAC drug test suspensions bench Calvillo, Oleksizjcuk following UFC 219

Getting suspended by Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), as well as United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), is kind of like getting in trouble with divorced parents who can’t decide what your punishment should be.

That’s something UFC strawweight Cynthia Calvillo learned when USADA benched her for six months after testing positive for marijuana metabolites, only to find out NSAC wanted her sat for an additional three.

In addition, Calvillo was fined 15 percent of her fight purse and will be required to submit a clean drug test before lacing up the gloves when her suspension ends on Sept. 30, retroactive to last December’s loss to Carla Esparza.

That’s not all.

Also pissing dirty from the UFC 219 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas was light heavyweight newcomer Michal Oleksizjcuk, who captured a unanimous decision win over Khalil Rountree, only to tarnish it by testing positive for clomiphene.

Yes, the same drug that made these guys (more) famous.

Oleksizjcuk was sat for one year, fined 30 percent of his fight purse, and left on the hook for $436.08 in attorney fees. He will also have to answer to USADA in the coming weeks and face any additional penalties.
