That was fast.
Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender, Francis Ngannou, announced his plans to “take some time off” from mixed martial arts (MMA) following his unanimous decision loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 last January in Boston.
I guess $500,000 doesn’t last as long as it used to.
While his recent announcement on social media was hardly an official return, Ngannou is unlikely to be too far removed from lining up his next fight. And we certainly aren’t short on prospective opponents.
Like this “Beast.”
Ngannou (11-2) made his Octagon debut in late 2015 and quickly slugged his way to the top of the heavyweight leaderboard. “The Predator” collected five frightening knockouts along the way, including this jaw-jacker over Alistair Overeem at UFC 218.
The Cameroonian was unable to melt Miocic in his first title fight (more on that here), but assured his endearing fan base that he learned from his mistakes and would come back even stronger.
If so, these 15 fighters are going to be in all sorts of trouble.
