Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is ready for a busy and wild night of fights as UFC 222 is primed and ready to kick off this weekend (Sat., March 3, 2018) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada featuring a women’s Featherweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya.
It’s a short-notice title fight that came to be after the original headlining bout between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar was cancelled do to an injury sustained by “Blessed.” Speaking of Edgar, he remained on the card to battle Brian Ortega in the co-headlining spot.
Meanwhile, jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern makes her highly-anticipated Octagon debut when she faces off against Ashley Yoder in main card action. Before Cyborg, Edgar, Ortega and the rest of the top-billed fighters take care of business inside the Octagon, the talented combatants were on hand to promote the events by showing off their best moves during the open workouts. And to everyone’s surprise, MMA legend B.J. Penn stopped by and put in some mat time with Cyborg.
