Out with the old, in with the new.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is less than one month away from its upcoming UFC 222 pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) event, locked and loaded for Sat., March 3, 2018 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And we’re limping across the finish line.
That’s because reigning featherweight champion Max Holloway was a late scratch to the five-round headliner, which sent Frankie Edgar into a non-title affair against streaking contender Brian Ortega and nearly to another “Fight Night” card on FOX Sports 1.
We can thank women’s featherweight champion Cristiane Justino for that, as “Cyborg” welcomes Invicta FC import Yana Kunitskaya (details), who will play the role of “good sport” for taking this bout on super-short notice.
That’s not all.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will return to the Octagon to throw hands with longtime 265-pound veteran Stefan Struve. In addition, Hector Lombard and C.B. Dollaway collide in middleweight action.
