Brazilian veteran Iuri Alcantara wasted little time getting back into the win column earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 3, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 125 from inside Arena Guilherme Paraense in Belem, Brazil, when he finished former UFC bantamweight title challenger Joe Soto in just 66 seconds.
After dropping his last contest to Brett Johns in just 30 seconds, Soto was looking to rebound in fashion at UFC Fight Night 125. Unfortunately for Soto, Alcantara came out firing and never looked back. He blasted Soto with hard kicks to the body before finding an opening inside for some short elbows. Soto was seriously hurt, had no choice but to cover up, and forced the referee to step in for the quick TKO stoppage.

With this performance, Alcantara washes away two-straight losses in the 135-pound division and proves that he’s still capable of dominating an opponent even at the age of 37. This first-round stoppage was No. 21 in Alcantara’s career, which goes to show how long he’s been winning at the highest level.
