Two former UFC flyweight title challengers will duke it out later this year as John Moraga meets Wilson Reis at UFC on FOX 29 on April 14 from inside Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, per a recent announcement by UFC officials.
Moraga, 33, has compiled a 5-4 divisional record since getting submitted by champion Demetrious Johnson back in 2013. The Arizona native had lost three fights in a row from 2015-2017 before winning his last two Octagon appearances, including a recent knockout victory over highly-touted Russian prospect Magomed Bibulatov.
Reis, 33, is currently experiencing the worst skid of his UFC career. Not only did the Brazilian submission specialist get tapped by “Mighty Mouse” back at UFC on FOX 24, but he was recently knocked unconscious by former title challenger Henry Cejudo at UFC 215. Another loss could drop Reis out of flyweight relevancy entering the second half of 2018.
UFC on FOX 29 will be headlined by a lightweight clash between fan favorite Justin Gaethje and perennial contender Dustin Poirier, and feature a co-main event pitting former UFC champion Carlos Condit against ageless welterweight veteran Matt Brown.
