Robert Whittaker seems to be getting on the right track to recovery after the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion of the world took to social media to propose a date for his upcoming title defense against Yoel Romero.

“The Reaper” called for the rematch to headline UFC 225, which is set to go down on June 9, 2018 inside in Chicago, Illinois inside the house that Michael Jordan built.

It’s not everyday you see the champion calling out the challenger.

The duo initially met back at UFC 213, which Whittaker walking away with the interim 185-pound strap after doing enough to outscore “Soldier of God” on the judges’ scorecards. They were set to run it back at UFC 221 a few weeks ago, but Robert was forced out of the event due to a bad case of staph infection that was considered “life threatening.”

Thankfully, Whittaker is on track to a full recovery and is confident he can return to action in four months.

Romero, meanwhile, stayed on the UFC 221 fight card to face Luke Rockhold in an interim title fight. And though he knocked Luke out in the third round rather violently (see it again here), Yoel was unable to win the title after he came in heavy for the pre-fight weigh-ins.

Nevertheless, Yoel will have the chance to win the real strap (assuming he makes weight) when he runs it back against the only man to defeat him so far inside the Octagon.

Your move, Yoel.
