Submission! Watch Marion Reneau tap Sara McMann in comeback win at UFC Orlando

New, comments

Women’s bantamweight veteran Marion Reneau made good on another Octagon appearance earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 24, 2018) at UFC on FOX 28 from inside Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., when she finished former Olympian and UFC title challenger Sara McMann via second-round triangle choke.

It was all McMann in the early going. She tagged Reneau on the feet before securing a slamming takedown and battering her elder opponent with countless elbows and fists from crucifix position. Reneau ended up turning the tables in the second round when she hurt McMann on the feet and forced McMann to shoot for a takedown. Once there, Reneau slammed hard elbows from her back before locking in a perfected triangle choke, forcing McMann to tap for the second fight in a row.

With this performance, Reneau improves her UFC record to 5-2-1 while locking down her first submission finish since stopping Jessica Andrade via triangle choke back in 2015. The 40-year-old veteran looks better than ever and could make a significant push towards contention as 2018 rolls on.
