A lightweight tilt between former interim title challenger Kevin Lee and Brazilian veteran Edson Barboza will headline UFC Fight Night 128 on April 21 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, per a recent report by MMA Fighting.

Ariel Helwani originally reported that the bout was in the works earlier this week.

Lee, 25, is coming off a crushing interim title loss to Tony Ferguson back at UFC 216 via third-round submission. Before that, “Motown Phenom” captured five-straight victories at the lightweight level, including finishes of Michael Chiesa, Francisco Trinaldo, and Jake Matthews. The brash youngster remains one of the biggest players at 155 pounds and could instantly jump back into contention with a win over “Junior.”

Barboza, 32, is coming off a one-sided beatdown at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 219 this past December. The veteran lightweight has lost only to Khabib, Donald Cerrone, Tony Ferguson, and Michael Johnson since the beginning of 2013, while capturing key victories over former UFC lightweight champions Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez, as well as divisional standouts Beneil Dariush, Bobby Green, and Paul Felder. The talented Brazilian striker has never lost back-to-back fights in his entire career, so Lee is going to have his work cut out for him.
