Video: Derrick Lewis broke his hand at UFC Austin, broke his spirits with big-ass needle

Damn that shit hurts I have a 4th metacarpal fracture

A post shared by Derrick Lewis (@thebeastufc) on

Seems like every time Derrick Lewis turns around, someone is sticking him with a big-ass needle.

This latest one came in the wake of his sensational knockout win over Marcin Tybura (watch it) at the UFC Fight Night 126 mixed martial arts (MMA) event last weekend in Austin, Texas, a co-headliner that shot “Black Beast” back into the win column.

But not without a price, as the Texan suffered a fourth metacarpal fracture for his efforts.

That might extinguish the fire UFC was trying to start on Twitter, asking fight fans if they wanted to see “Black Beast” tangle with fellow heavyweight slugger Francis Ngannou, who took some time off in the wake of his recent loss to Stipe Miocic.

Admirable, but mistaken.

After an inconsistent start to his UFC career, Lewis (19-5, 1 NC) is now 7-1 inside the Octagon with six of those bouts ending by way of violent knockout. He’s been calling for a top-five opponent and based on his most recent performance, he’s likely to get one.

I hear this guy is looking for a fight.
