Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is roughly 24 hours away from its UFC Fight Night 125: “Machida vs. Anders” mixed martial arts (MMA) event, locked and loaded for this Sat. night (Feb. 3, 2018) inside Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil.
And we’re not off to a great start.
That’s because undefeated middleweight up-and-comer Eryk Anders, who meets Lyoto Machida in the five-round main event on FOX Sports 1, missed weight earlier this morning, tipping the scale at 187.9.
Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) granted Anders an additional hour to cut weight after on-site doctors (and his opponent) gave their approval, according to MMA Junkie, and with 10 minutes to spare, “Ya Boi” hit 186.
That’s not all.
Pedro Munhoz failed to hit the bantamweight limit at 140 pounds, while Michel Prazeres came in way over the lightweight mark at 161. Both fighters were fined 20-percent of their purses, payable to their opponents.
