Instagram comments have quickly started to rival YouTube comments for their sheer cancer-inducing vileness, but we got a surprising show of class earlier this weekend in one comment care of none other than Conor McGregor.
It all stemmed from the most recent back and forth between McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, with Floyd continuing to tease a UFC run with photoshops of himself elbowing Conor. Conor responded, mocking Floyd with real pictures of him elbowing Nate Diaz. Diaz jumped in with a picture of himself in mount on McGregor raining down blows, and this was where McGregor showed up in the comments with some surprisingly good sportsmanship.
”A truly beautiful position,” McGregor wrote. “The most intense position to be in under the lights of the entire world. Try and imagine what it would feel like. Amazing. Respect to Nate always and our trilogy will be special when we do it 100%. There is no rush, Nate Diaz, our trilogy will show true to us for what we are. Warriors.”
He even gave props to another Instagram commenter who seemed to be busting his balls.
”And respect always to you as a fan Jesse, and the fans all around the world who support and recognize our work for what it is,” he continued. “The truest form of unarmed combat on earth. This is as real as it gets. This is the UFC.”
McGregor has been going back and forth between cocky and contemplative on social media as the world waits for him to decide on what he wants to do next. This latest exchange doesn’t tell us much, other than the fact that he plans on continuing to fight and he plans on wrapping up that trilogy with Nate Diaz ... later, if anything is to be read between the lines here.
