UFC Fight Night 126 results stream live: ‘Cerrone vs Medeiros’ play-by-play updates

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on television this weekend (Sun., Feb. 18, 2018) with the UFC Fight Night 126 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, which features a welterweight main event between Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros, who battle for a spot in the 170-pound title chase.

Elsewhere on the card, held inside Frank Erwin Events Center in Austin, Texas, power-punching heavyweight Derrick Lewis will go to war with 265-pound upstart Marcin Tybura, while Sage Northcutt and Thibault Gouti collide in lightweight action.

170 lbs.: Donald Cerrone vs. Yancy Medeiros

Round 1: Body kick from Cerrone as Medeiros pressures. Cerrone tries a knee tap, can’t get it. Both men winging punches. SPin kick from Medeiros. Cerrone goes low-high, lands a body kick. Good punches from Medeiros. Body kicks from Cerrone. Medeiros sticks a right to the body. Hard right hand from Medeiros snaps Cerrone’s head back. Combo from Medeiros on the cage. Cerrone drops him with a counter right hand and the two hug it out. Cerrone with a hard left hand, Medeiros lands one and gets dropped with a counter left. He scrambles up immediately. Two minutes to go.

Cerrone with a body kick and jab. Intercepting knee. Medeiros with a spinning back kick, brief clinch. They trade in the center and Medeiros sticks a left to the body. They tie up, knee from Cerrone. One minute to go. Cerrone lands a hard right as they separate, then a combination. Cerrone mixing up head and body shots. Nasty right hand discombobulates Medeiros and Cerrone’s followup ground-and-pound sends Herb Dean into action.

265 lbs.: Derrick Lewis vs. Marcin Tybura

Round 1: Tybura fires a low kick and Lewis takes him down into half guard. Tybura goes for a leg, nothing doing. One minute in. Lewis nearly in side control. Tybura spins to his knees and Lewis looks for the back. Tybura stands and Lewis appears to slip, winding up on the bottom in side control. Tybura passes to mount right away. Lewis gives up his back as he stands, but peels the hooks off and drops Tybura with a right hand. Lewis jackhammering away with punches from half guard. Tybura survives the initial onslaught. Two minutes to go.

Lewis overcommits to a right hands and Tybura sweeps into top position. Half guard for the Pole. Short punches from Tybura. One minute to go. Tybura passes to mount and takes the back, going to work with short punches. He looks for an americana at the bell. 10-9 Lewis.

Round 2: Tybura sending out kicks. Lewis cracks him with a straight right. One minute in. Lewis flurries and ties up, but gets taken down into side control. Tybura staying patient. Two minutes in. Lewis looks to stand and Tybura gets full back mount. Tybura’s pretty high up, but Lewis goes down to his knees rather than continue shaking. Now to mount and Tybura drops punches. To the back once more. Lewis on all fours with Tybura attached. Two minutes to go.

Lewis tries to roll, Tybura gets back on top. Full mount. Elbows from the Pole. One minute to go. Sporadic shots from Tybura. 10-9 Tybura.

Round 3: Tybura on the front foot. Hook kick from the Pole. Leg kick lands. One minute in. Lewis finds the mark with a left hand. Tybura ties up on the cage, lands a knee. Two minutes in. More clinch work from Tybura. Tybura looks for a single-leg. Lewis defends well. Lewis uses over-unders to throw Tybura aside, then drops him with a savage right hand. He drops big punches until the ref steps in.

155 lbs.: Francisco Trinaldo vs. James Vick

Round 1: Trinaldo on the front foot early. Vick tries a head kick and they trade body kicks. Hook kick lands for him. Hard body kick. One minute in. Nice right hand in combination. They tie up and trade knees to the body as they jockey for position on the cage. They separate. Counter left hand lands for Trinaldo. Anotehr big left hand by Trinaldo and a body shot, but Vick drops him with a right hand. Trinaldo manages to get on top and then take him down into side control. Vick regains guard after avoiding an arm triangle. Vick scrambles up and Trinaldo clamps down on a guillotine. Two minutes to go.

Vick scrambles into top position and lands a knee on the way up. Trinaldo comes back with an overhand left. Good knee to the body from Vick. Vick putting together punches, lands a hard left with a minute to go. Two-piece from Vick. Left hands by Trinaldo connect. 10-9 Vick.

Round 2: Trinaldo catches Vick with an overhand left. Check right hook, then he knocks himself to the ground overcommitting. Vick with some combinations. Trinaldo with a takedown into side control, looking for the back on the way up. Vick turns to face him, lands a knee, and looks for a takedown of his own. One minute in. Vick gets him down, lands right hands. Trinaldo pops up and separates. Head kick from Vick. Two minutes in. Trinaldo lands a pair of punches. Right jab in combination. Side kick from Vick. Vick pumping his jab. Two minutes to go.

Round 3: Trinaldo marching after Vick, who lands a body kick. Vick tries a knee, avoids a left hand. Glancing overhand left from Trinaldo a minute in. Hard body kick. 170 lbs.: Thiago Alves vs. Curtis Millender

Round 1: Alves checks an early leg kick. Left hook from Millender. One minute in. Millender feints a head kick as he advances. Alves whiffs on a leg kick. Millender jabs the body, eats a low kick, fires a flying knee. Leg kick connects. He tries a wheel kick. Low kick from Alves off a Millender jab. Millender catches Alves leaning with a left hook and sends him wobbling to the fence. He stays patient as he pursues. Two minutes to go.

Jab lands for Alves, who gets floored by a right hand. An uppercut drops Alves again and Millender raises his hands in victory, but the ref doesn’t stop it. Millender bashes him on the ground and feet, walking through a heavy low kick in return. Millender finds the mark with a series of nasty right hands. Alves scores a takedown into half guard. 10-8 Millender.

Round 2: Millender threatens a head kick, lands a right hand. Alves swinging a bit more now, but sporting a bloodied left eye. Counter right from Millender, who looks damn sharp tonight. Body kick from Alves. One minute in. Sneaky right from Alves. Millender to the body, eats a leg kick. Two minutes in. Alves with a body kick-low kick combo. Leg kick connects. Millender with a hard right to the body. Two minutes to go.

Alves connects with a 2-1 and leg kick. Oblique kick from Millender. Good left hook lands for Alves, right hand comes back at him. Leg kicks by Alves. Millender picking him off on the way in. One minute to go and Millender demolishes Alves with a knee to the head. Millender stands still and lets the ref take his time to realize that Alves is out. Impressive walk-off knockout from “Curtious.”

145 lbs.: Brandon Davis vs. Steven Peterson

Round 1: Peterson advancing as Davis throws heavy punches, knees, and kicks. Peterson’s eating a lot of damage already. Uppercut lands, Peterson lands a counter. Peterson’s already marked up, eats leg kicks. One minute in. More low kicks from Davis. Both jab. Peterson shoots, stuffed. Two minutes in. Peterson flicking kicks and jabs. Davis looks for a head kick. Peterson leg kick. Davis continues to whack away at the lead leg, lands an axe kick. Good body kick by Peterson. Davis lands a front kick with two minutes to go.

Combinations from Davis, leg kick. 1-2 from Davis. They trade rights. Davis moving his head very well, lands another right hand. Peterson counters a head kick with a right hand. One minute to go. 1-2 from Davis. He tries to spin, lands a leg kick after catching a body kick. Good rights from Davis. 10-9 Davis.

Round 2: Peterson’s still going, stuffed on a takedown attempt. Counter right from Davis. They trade right hands. Good overhand right by Peterson, eats one from Davis in return. Peterson lands a knee, trades jabs. One minute in. Combinations from Davis. Low kick. Overhand right on the counter, still looking for the counter elbow. They slip each other’s shots, then more punches by Davis. Peterson’s trading with him. Two minutes in. Another sharp counter right by Davis, piecing Peterson up. More right hands. Davis shoots, stuffed, takes some knees. Peterson hauls him to the cage, then transitions to the back. Davis slips out the back door and avoids an armbar before setting up in guard. Two minutes to go.

They stand, jockeying for position. Peterson reverses position, gets the rear waistlock. Davis reverses in turn with a minute to go. Peterson reverses, completes a takedown into half guard. Davis holds on until the bell. 10-9 Davis.

Round 3: Peterson finds the mark with a right hand, eats half a dozen punches in return. Low kick from Davis. Again. Good right from Davis and Peterson shoots. Stuffed, more jabs from Peterson. One minute in. Davis stiff-arms him away and lands a right. 1-2 from Peterson. Right hand from Davis, more jabs from Peterson. Another, bigger right hand. Again, then a 1-2. Two minutes in. Another counter right by Davis. Peterson absorbs another series of huge right hands, bleeding from the forehead. They trade rights. Peterson shoots, denied with a whizzer. Peterson shoots, stuffed. Two minutes to go.

More combos from Davis. They trade right hands. Heavy counter right. Peterson walking through everything. Peterson ducks directly into a knee and his legs turn to jelly for a moment. Davis can’t get rid of him. One minute to go. Peterson leaping in with wild strikes. Another series of right hands. Davis shrugs off a takedown and fires a head kick. Peterson jumping in with Superman punches and knees, looks for the back at the bell. 10-9 Davis.

155 lbs.: Sage Northcutt vs. Thibault Gouti

Round 1: Gouti pressuring as Northcutt looks to pick him off. Lovely double-leg from Northcutt into side control. Lots of pressure, not much striking thus far. One minute in. Gouti holding on. Northcutt grinding with short elbows, then postures up for a nasty hammerfist. Gouti spins to his knees and makes his way up, avoiding a back take. Two minutes in. Low kicks from both. They throw right hands at the same time and Gouti lands clean, buckling Northcutt and forcing a shot. He clamps onto a front choke, but Northcutt pops his head out. Gouti still driving on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Northcutt landing short elbows with his back on the cage. Knee to the body before they separate. Body kick lands for him, then a counter right. Wheel kick falls short. Counter elbow, front kick. Gouti just marching on. One minute to go. Gouti tries to spin and eats a right hand. Gouti shoots after taking another snap kick to the midsection. Northcutt working his jab, tries another takedown without success but catches Gouti with a knee. 10-9 Northcutt.

Round 2: Gouti still pressing forward, lands a hard right hand and denies a single-leg. Low kicks from both, then a hard hook by Gouti. Oblique kick. Both jabbing, then Gouti blasts him with another right hand before taking half guard a minute in. Northcutt trying to get his back on the cage. He works his way to his feet, Gouti still pressing him against the fence. Gouti changes levels for another takedown. Two minutes to go.

Northcutt looking to the ref. Gouti staying heavy, but unable to do damage from this position. Northcutt stands. Ref separates them with a minute to go. They trade, good rights from Northcutt. Body kick. Gouti lands one of his own. Northcutt pivots off with a jab. Gouti backs off in the waning seconds. 10-9 Gouti.

Round 3: Gouti catches a toe in the eye, prompting a brief break. Gouti advancing still. Northcutt firing kicks. Leg kicks connecting. 1-2 lands. One minute in. Northcutt shoots, Gouti limp-legs out. Another leg kick from Northcutt. Right hand lands for Gouti and he shoots, putting Northcutt on his butt. Northcutt soon stands. Two minutes in. Another takedown by Gouti. Back up, back down. Northcutt with elbows and the like, doing what he can. Two minutes to go.

Gouti just driving, nothing else. Northcutt threatens a front choke. He makes it to his feet, lands a knee. Ref separates them. Northcutt firing kicks and jabs. Gouti stuffs a takedown, so Northcutt hauls him to the fence. One minute to go. Northcutt with a nice elbow on the break and a knee to the body. Gouti stuffs another takedown and grabs the front headlock. Both try fancy kicks at the bell. 10-9 Northcutt.

Final result: Northcutt def. Gouti by unanimous decision


155 lbs.: Diego Ferreira vs. Jared Gordon

Round 1: Both men slinging right hands, only for Ferreira to land a kick to the nards. Back to trading in the center, Ferreira on the advance. He lands another low blow before long, though. Ferreira lands a knee to the body and ties up a minute in. Good exchange, side kick from the Brazilian. Gordon goes for an outside trip, no luck. More trading in the pocket and Ferreira knocks him down with a left hook. He hops into full mount, takes the back, and slams home right hands until the ref steps in.

Final result: Ferreira def. Gordon by TKO (punches)


170 lbs.: Brian Camozzi vs. Geoff Neal

Round 1: Camozzi sends out a head kick early, eats a left hand as he lands a leg kick. Neal finds the mark with a hard combination and ties up on the fence. Double underhooks for Neal. They separate. Lots of action early, trading hands. One minute in. Neal puts him back on the cage. Camozzi threatens a guillotine, nothing doing. They separate. Body kick from Neal after taking a leg kick. Two minutes in. Neal connecting with counter lefts and grabs a body lock. Camozzi misses an elbow on the exit. Another left from Neal, Camozzi goes for an uppercut. Neal gets him to a knee and grabs a bulldog choke-esque no-hook RNC for a surprise submission victory.

Final result: Neal def. Camozzi by submission (rear naked choke)


125 lbs.: Joby Sanchez vs. Roberto Sanchez

Round 1: Joby goes for a high kick, gets taken down for it. He hits the switch, but Roberto continues to drive, ultimately hitting another outside reap as he looks for the back. Joby again stands, falls victim to the inside reap a minute in. Full back control for Sanchez, including the body triangle on the standing Joby. Roberto has his forearm under Joby’s chin and manages to free the other hand, surviving a slam to lock up the RNC.

Final result: R. Sanchez def. J. Sanchez by submission (rear naked choke)


135 lbs.: Sarah Moras vs. Lucie Pudilova

Round 1: Moras finds the mark with a head kick and combination before dragging Moras down to the mat. Moras on top in guard. Pudilova holding on tight. One minute in. Solid punches and elbows from Moras. More punches two minutes in. Pudilova looking like a non-factor off of her back, just holding on or trying to swat at her. More elbows from Moras. Two minutes to go.

Moras staying patient when she looks to pass, can’t quite cut her knee through. Ref stands them up, which is a terrible decision, and Pudilova starts plugging her with punches. Right hand drops Moras, who immediately looks for an armbar with a minute to go. Pudilova fights her way through that, a triangle, and another armbar. She ends the round just throttling Moras. 10-9 Pudilova.

Round 2: Pudilova comes out throwing. Jab from Moras. She shoots, winds up on her back. Already she’s looking for another armbar. Pudilova stacking her, then pulls her elbow out with a slam a minute in. Moras spins her way into another takedown attempt, winds up surrendering side control. She regains guard two minutes in . Pudilova looking to strike as Moras brings her legs high on her back. Two minutes to go.

Moras working towards a triangle. Pudlova postures out and postures up for a punch, eating an upkick on the way down. Moras looking for a Liam McGeary-style inverted triangle. Pudilova works her way out and waves her up with forty seconds to go. Low kick by Pudilova, 1-2 from Moras. Right hand catches Moras as she’s kicking and knocks her down. They trade knees before the bell. 10-9 Pudilova.

Round 3: Jabs from both to start. One minute in. Right hand from Moras. 1-2 by Pudilova, who sprawls on an ugly shot before letting Moras up. Moras with a knee on the cage, met by a right hand. Back to the jab battle. Two minutes in. Moras honestly doing pretty well on the feet. She avoids a Superman punch. Pudilova with a right hand against the fence. Two minutes to go.

Moras gets in deep on a double-leg, but can’t complete it. She transitions to a single-leg and sets up in guard. One minute to go. Now Pudilova looking for a triangle, nothing doing. Pudilova striking off of her back. She hits a sweep before the bell. 10-9 Pudilova.

Final result: Pudilova def. Moras by unanimous decision


170 lbs.: Josh Burkman vs. Alex Morono

Round 1: Morono orthodox, Burkman southpaw. Both men a little tentative in the early going. Oblique kick from Burkman. One minute in. Low kicks from both. Hard low kick from Morono. Another nasty low kick prompts Burkman to switch stance. Morono drops Burkman with a counter left and jumps on a guillotine, quickly drawing a tap.

Final result: Morono def. Burkman by submission (guillotine choke)


185 lbs.: Oskar Piechota vs. Tim Williams

Round 1: Piechota on the advance early. Low kick and right hand by Williams. Good overhand right from Piechota in return. Another, Williams answer with a leg kick. One minute in. Williams tries a head kick, takes a body shot. Hard combo by Williams. As he tries to press the advantage, though, Piechota lamps him with an overhand right. Williams crumples to the mat and Piechota smashes away for the finish. Williams does not know where he is.

Final result: Piechota def. Williams by TKO (punches)
