We’re not yet finished with 2018, but 2019 events are already popping up on the calendar for Bellator MMA. The latest was announced during Bellator 210: “Njokuani vs. Salter” last weekend: “Sanchez vs. Grimshaw” at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., on Mar. 22, 2019.
Emmanuel Sanchez returns after a grueling title fight at Bellator 209 that Patricio “Pitbull” Freire won by a close unanimous decision to retain his Featherweight title. Sanchez’ next test won’t be any easier, though, as “El Matador” will put his 17-4 record on the line against an up-and-coming European prospect named Ashleigh Grimshaw (20-10-1, 3 NC).
“The White Wolf” has been fighting since the early 2000’s, but appears to be hitting his prime at 36 years old, having racked up four straight wins including a first round knockout against Matteus Lahdesmaki in April of this year. That appears to be the critical victory that put the veteran Grimshaw on Bellator’s radar.
At this early date no other fights have been announced for this yet-unnumbered card.
