Bellator MMA comes to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Sat., Feb. 16, 2019, with “MVP vs. Daley” as part of the promotion’s Welterweight Grand Prix. As previously reported on MMAMania.com, undefeated Michael “Venom” Page (13-0) will collide with world-renowned slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley (40-16-2) in the main event, with the winner advancing to face Douglas Lima in round two of the 170-pound tournament.
However, that’s not the only Bellator MMA event going down inside Mohegan Sun Arena that weekend.
Indeed, the promotions has added a second card the night of Fri., Feb. 15, 2019, at the same venue led by an action-packed Heavyweight bout between Matt Mitrione (13-6) and Sergei Kharitonov (29-7, 1 NC). It’s fair to say both are known more for their explosive hands than their ground games, so expect a stand-and-bang main event both nights in one big weekend of action.
In addition to this new “Mitrione vs. Kharitonov” card, Bellator has added a second fight for Saturday night that puts two more Heavyweights in action, as winner of seven straight Cheick Kongo (29-10-2) takes on the undefeated former Bellator champion Vitaly Minakov (21-0) in a rematch of their Bellator 115 battle.
