Greg Hardy expected to make UFC debut on Jan. 19 in Brooklyn

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, is ready to bring Greg Hardy into the heavyweight fold after the former football star racked up six wins in mixed martial arts (MMA), all by way of knockout.

Three of those finishes came on the amateur circuit followed by another three in the professional ranks, including two for White’s “Tuesday Night Contender Series” on the Fight Pass digital network (sample here).

According to ESPN, Hardy will make his Octagon debut against Allen Crowder at UFC on ESPN+ next month in Brooklyn, New York, which sounds like a really poor decision when you consider that Rachael Ostovich is also scheduled to compete.

Hardy’s inclusion in UFC has not come without controversy, thanks to his issues with domestic violence. Ostovich, meanwhile, was recently hospitalized after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband, MMA fighter Arnold Berdon.

The UFC on ESPN+ fight card is still a work in progress, but also features a light heavyweight showdown pitting Ion Cutelaba opposite Glover Teixeira, while Geoff Neal and Belal Muhammad hook ‘em up in welterweight action.
