Rising bantamweight prospect Nathaniel Wood scored another late submission finish earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 29, 2018) at UFC 232 from inside The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., when he put a stop to Andre Ewell via rear-naked choke with 48 seconds left in the third round.
This was a back-and-forth contest from the opening bell. Ewell tried to utilize his length to keep Wood at bay and score points in bunches, but Wood was game and eventually started to dictate the fight with timely takedowns. In the third round, “Prospect” was able to drag Ewell back to the canvas and work his way to back control. Once there, Wood quickly sunk in his arms and squeezed for the rear-naked choke finish.

With this performance, Wood secures his second UFC submission win in as many appearances. The 25-year-old English prospect is quickly proving that he’s one of the most talented youngsters at 135 pounds and should be in store for a big matchup to start his 2019 campaign.
