One of the biggest rematches in UFC history will unfold later tonight (Sat., Dec. 29, 2018) at UFC 232 live on pay-per-view from inside The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., as former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones meets Alexander Gustafsson in the main event for the vacant 205-pound title.
While Jones and Gustafsson have combined for a staggering 36 months of downtime, the two light heavyweights should produce one of the best fights of 2018 later this evening. After all, their clash at UFC 165 five years ago, which saw Jones win a close decision to retain his title, remains the best championship bout in light heavyweight history.
Leading up to their long-awaited rematch this weekend at UFC 232, the EA Sports UFC 3 simulator has churned out another great prediction (shown in the above video player). This time around, Jones is able to put the nail in the coffin and send “Mauler” packing early.
After three hard fought rounds, Jones finds a home for an epic spinning back kick in the fourth that catches the Swedish striker directly on the chin. Gustafsson collapses to the canvas and Jones peppers him with insurance punches before the referee steps in for the stoppage.
Quite the simulation. But is it one that will actually come true later tonight at UFC 232?
There’s only one way to find out.
MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 232 fight card, starting with the Fight Pass “Prelims” matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET, then the remaining undercard balance on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET.
