The Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson light heavyweight rematch headlines the upcoming UFC 232 pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza, but it’s no longer taking place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Instead, their championship showdown — contested for the vacant 205-pound strap after reigning division kingpin, Daniel Cormier, surrenders his title on fight night — is being packed up and shipped off to The Forum this Sat. night (Dec. 29, 2018) in Inglewood, California.
That’s because Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) refuses to license Jones until his latest drug-test results can be deciphered. The boys in “The Golden State,” however, have that rubber stamp all inked up and ready to drop.
Hey, if the promoter says he’s clean, then he’s clean. Why would someone with a vested financial interest say otherwise?!?
Before “Bones” and “The Mauler” go to war for the second time, UFC women’s featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg, will put her 145-pound strap on the line against current women’s bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, who jumps up in weight for a chance to make history.
