Knockout! Watch Jarrett Hurd finish Jason Welborn via liver shot at ‘Wilder vs. Fury’

Jarrett Hurd made an impressive return to the boxing ring last night (Sat., Dec. 1, 2018) at “Wilder vs. Fury” live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., when he finished Jason Welborn via fourth-round knockout (liver punch) to defend his WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO light middleweight titles.

This was a tune up fight of sorts for Hurd who was returning from shoulder surgery. The undefeated 28-year-old champion might have taken a few more shots than he should have, but Welborn proved better than expected in close quarters. Hurd took his time, picked his shots, and eventually landed a brutal right hook to the body in the fourth that instantly sent Welborn to the canvas.

With this performance, Hurd was able to shake off the cobwebs and test his shoulder in live action. “Swift” did what he was supposed to do and locked down yet another knockout victory. His next bout could be against fellow undefeated light middleweight champion Jermel Charlo, especially considering the two boxers came face-to-face in the ring after Hurd’s impressive stoppage.
