Lightweight prospect Joaquim Silva turned in one of the best performances of his career earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 15, 2018) at UFC on FOX 31 from inside Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when he slugged it out with Jared Gordon en route to a third-round knockout finish.
Both fighters landed big shots in this 155-pound affair. Gordon did a lot of damage in the early going but it was Silva who responded late and put “Flash” in serious trouble. During a blistering exchange along the cage in the third round Silva was able to catch Gordon with a nasty right hand. A few more follow-up punches by Silva forced the referee to step in for the standing stoppage.

With this performance, Silva gets back into the lightweight win column after dropping a decision to Vinc Pichel his last time out. The 29-year-old Brazilian has already proved himself inside of the Octagon and should be an exciting name to watch heading into 2019, especially if he continues to end fights like he did tonight.
