Canelo vs Rocky: Live results, streaming play-by-play fight updates

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, last seen edging Gennady Golovkin in an epic rematch, will head eight pounds upward TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 15, 2015) when he locks horns with British import, Rocky Fielding, for the WBA Super Middleweight title inside Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.

MMAmania will deliver LIVE coverage of the main event later this evening. The four-fight DAZN broadcast (watch it) begins at 9 p.m. ET, with the main event coming closer to midnight.

Other fights on the card include Tevin Farmer defending his Super Featherweight title against Francisco Fonseca, IBF/WBA Women’s Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor taking on former amateur rival Eva Wahlstrom, and former Golovkin foes David Lemieux and Tureano Johnson duking it out.

Body shot and left hook upstairs by Canelo. More body blows. Combinations on the ropes. Fielding tries to flurry back. Big liver shot sends Fielding to a knee. He’s up at six. One minute to go. Fielding popping his jab, lands a right hook after eating one. Another body blow from Canelo. Uppercut and body shot. Tight uppercut. Another liver shot met by a Fielding 2-1. Canelo with a right at the bell. 10-8 Alvarez.

Round two: Canelo pressuring once again. Right hand downstairs. Fielding with a combination, eats body blows. 1-2 downstairs from Canelo. One minute in. Overhand right lands for him, Fielding throws back. More body blows by Canelo. Heavy hook downstairs. Fielding is standing his ground and throwing back, but there’s not enough on them to keep Canelo away. Overhand right by Canelo seems to sting Fielding. Exchanging on the ropes. One minute to go. Round three: Canelo lands a right downstairs. Another good liver shot and overhand right. Fielding throwing with him, not enough firepower. Canelo rips the body with both hands. Fielding backs him off, eats a pair of hooks downstairs. Canelo punishing him against the ropes. A sequence of lefts lands for Fielding. Hooks high and low by Canelo. Fielding lands a right downstairs. Fielding eats body blows, flurries and clinches. Hard right around the guard drops Fielding yet again. Up in plenty of time. Uppercut and liver shot by Canelo drop him a fourth time and the ref steps in.
