Video: CM Punk is the new Joe Rogan, enthusiastically calls CFFC 71 weigh ins

MC Punk?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight, Phil Brooks, is not leaving mixed martial arts (MMA) anytime soon, and will make his return on the UFC Fight Pass digital network for Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) in New Jersey.

The former pro wrestler affectionately known as “CM Punk” will provide color commentary for CFFC 71 tonight (Fri., Dec. 14, 2018) streaming live at 9 p.m. ET inside Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, alongside veteran play-by-play broadcaster Mike Gill, as well as longtime CFFC mouthpiece Brian Palakow.

“I can’t wait for this opportunity to call the CFFC fights on UFC Fight Pass,” Brooks said in the official release. “CFFC has a long history of putting on exciting fights featuring some of the sport’s up-and-coming athletes. This card is going to be a lot of fun and I’m really excited to have the chance to be a part of it.”

Brooks (0-2) transitioned from pro wrestling to MMA, bypassing the amateur circuit along the way, and was quickly taken out by 170-pound prospect Mickey Gall in late 2016. He would return nearly two years later for a second crack at combat sports success, but went down on points to Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago.
