After all was said and done at the UFC 231 pay-per-view (PPV) event -- which went down on Sat., Dec. 8, 2018 inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada -- there was plenty of “Thrill and Agony” to go around.
Sharing in the obvious joy was Max Holloway, who successfully defended his Featherweight title by outclassing Brian Ortega for four rounds (see it again here). As for Ortega, the agony was visible in his face — as well as his family sitting cageside — after suffering the first setback of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
On the bright side, “Blessed” and “T-City” seem to have now formed a friendship.
Also sharing in the thrill was Valentina Shevchenko after winning her first-ever UFC title by outclassing Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event of the evening (video). Obviously, “Joanna Champion” didn’t take the loss too well as her bid to become the women’s GOAT came to a screeching halt.
