Kamaru Usman pushed his UFC record to 9-0 last night (Fri., Nov. 30, 2018) at TUF 28 Finale live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he defeated former UFC champion and fellow welterweight contender Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision.
No matter what dos Anjos did he couldn’t keep Usman away. “Nigerian Nightmare” pushed through guillotine attempts, kimura attempts, knees in the clinch and punches on the feet to back dos Anjos into the cage and pressure him with grappling and wrestling. Dos Anjos fought valiantly to get back to his feet on numerous occasions, but Usman was too powerful and eventually able to score with hammer fists and ground-and-pound.
In the end, Usman’s efforts left dos Anjos’ face bloody and earned “Nigeria Nightmare” the unanimous decision.

With this performance, Usman remains undefeated inside of the Octagon and proves yet again that he’s one of the most dominant welterweights in the world. Having beat a former champion like dos Anjos and and a two-time title challenger like Demian Maia in back-to-back-fights, Usman will be on the short list of deserving title contenders entering 2019.
