Decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Garry Tonon continued his undefeated crossover to mixed martial arts (MMA) earlier today (Fri., Nov. 9, 2018) at ONE Championship: Heart of the Lion from Kallang, Singapore, when he put an end to Sung Jong Lee via second-round submission (guillotine choke).
Tonon was able to secure the finish by quickly landing a takedown early into the second frame. While trying to defend Tonon’s advancement into side control Lee left his neck undefended. Tonon grabbed a hold, Lee scrambled for a few moments, and then the choke was applied for the tap.

With this performance, Tonon improves his professional MMA record to 3-0 while locking down his third-straight finish. The 27-year-old is starting to create a name for himself under the ONE banner and should earn bigger matchups heading into 2019. There is still a lot left to learn when it comes to Tonon’s striking, but his ground game is clearly overpowering opponents.
