Darren Till threatens to ‘slap that baldy head’ off Anderson Silva

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Liverpool: Thompson vs Till Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

Darren Till picked a good time to move up from welterweight to middleweight -- just in time to avoid an extremely bad matchup against new UFC 170 pound signee and wrestling powerhouse Ben Askren. On the downside, going up to 185 pounds means a likely end to his dreams of fighting Conor McGregor at Anfield football stadium in Liverpool.

Till threw that bit of wishful thinking out around Halloween, but it didn’t get any traction with fans or McGregor. Now “The Gorilla” is getting angry at another fighter chasing a red panty night with McGregor: Anderson Silva.

Silva is just one day away from the end of a 12 month USADA suspension for methyltestosterone metabolites and hydrochlorothiazide -- prohibited substances USADA found Silva had taken accidentally due to tainted supplements. He has indeed been talking about a big fight with Conor McGregor ... but only because McGregor brought it up first.

Of course, McGregor isn’t currently entertaining fight offers as the NSAC considers whether or not to suspend him for his part in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The commission will reconvene in December to make their determination.

As for Till’s idea of a fight with Anderson at the next UFC show in London on March 16th, 2019? It doesn’t sound too bad at all. If “The Spider” is willing to wait that long to get back to action, we could be getting a solid striker’s battle between two of the best in the game.
