Ray Borg was recently forced out of his scheduled Flyweight fight against former title challenger, Joseph Benavidez — which was set to go down this Saturday night (Nov. 10, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 139 in Denver, Colorado — after he came down with an illness just three days away from fight night.

According to one of Borg’s Jackson-Wink stablemates, however, his illness is fake news, as Mike Perry says “The Tazmexican Devil” is not showing up to “The Mile High City” to avoid one of his coaches after he was allegedly “caught” bad-mouthing former fighter-turned coach, Frank Lester, on Instagram.
“Man, that illness....he got caught, bro. He was talking shit about Frank ‘The Tank’ on his wife’s Instagram Stories in the background. We heard him talking. Saying, ‘I don’t like Frank, he’s not a good coach.’ You don’t know nothing about Frank,” said a heated Perry in an interview with TSN Sports’ Aaron Bronsteter.
“He’s just a fucking hater, that’s why his bitch ass isn’t showing up this week to fucking fight like a man. Shit, you come down with illness? Bitch, you scared.”
According to “Platinum,” Borg’s alleged disdain for Frank stems from the ongoing feud between Donald Cerrone and his former gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“He was on Cowboy’s nuts and he was hating on Frank and shit. So ever since he got caught hating on Frank there has been this fog in the air. He don’t say shit.”
According to the Albuquerque Journal, Borg is no longer affiliated with Jackson’s and is the latest fighter to leave the gym per a statement via the camps general manager. Ray now joins Cerrone and Lando Vannata as the latest combatant to part ways with the famed camp due to internal drama.
Cerrone and Perry will collide in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 139, which will see “Cowboy” face off against his former longtime coaches for the first time since the breakup.
