ONE Championship has been making major moves in the world of mixed marital arts (MMA) over the last several weeks.
After inking former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to a massive deal (details), the Asia-based fight promotion pulled off a historic trade with UFC that nabbed them Demetrious Johnson in exchange for Ben Askren.
But according to Alvarez, ONE isn’t done doing it’s thing, hinting at the possibility of singing more free agents.
Interestingly enough, Sage Northcutt, who is no longer tied under a UFC contract, has been getting cozy with ONE, as he previously attended one of its events. More recently, “Super” posted a picture of himself on social media (see above) living his best life on a luxurious plane ride to Singapore, site of ONE’s next event this Friday (Nov. 9, 2018).
As he noted on social media, Sage Northcutt is on his way to Singapore for a ONE event (as are recent signees Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson). Northcutt is a free agent, however, he hasn’t signed with anyone yet. Still fielding offers, sources say.

During his run with UFC, Sage amassed an impressive 6-2 mark which saw him compete both the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions. Though he didn’t get enough traction going to put him in the title hunt in any weight class, “Super” amassed a massive following.
And if ONE is looking for potential stars, Sage could be their next guy, as the 22 year-old hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential. Should the promotion offer him a deal, you can expect UFC to do everything it can to keep Dana White’s discovery inside the Octagon.
