After months of back-and-forth trash talk, we’ll finally get to see who is, in fact, the top striker in the Bellator MMA welterweight division, now that Michael Page and Paul Daley are set to collide on Feb. 16, 2018 inside Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
That’s according to a report from ESPN.
Page (13-0) has worked a part-time schedule for Bellator MMA after making his debut under the Bjorn Rebney regime in early 2013. “Venom” only managed one appearance over the last two years, a technical knockout win over the grossly-outmatched David Rickels.
As for Daley (40-16-2), he’s coming off a disappointing loss to Bellator blanket Jon Fitch. “Semtex” has an incredible 30 knockouts in 40 wins, not including his kickboxing fights, and has slept the likes of Lorenz Larkin and Duane Ludwig, among others.
”When you got guys like Fedor drawing just over half a million viewers, I’m 99% sure the biggest fight that Bellator can put together, the biggest fight on the whole roster regardless of Mousasi or MacDonald or whatever, the biggest fight they can put together for their social media type era of fans is MVP vs Semtex,” Daley said in a recent interview. “I truly believe that’s the biggest fight that they’ve got on the roster.”
We’ll find out in less than three months.
