Tito Ortiz responds to Dana White - ‘How much of UFC’s $4 billion did Chuck and I get?’

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White had some harsh words for Oscar de la Hoya, labeling him a “crackhead junkie” for pissing on Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) fighter pay, while some of Oscar’s fighters earned very little to compete at Golden Boy MMA 1 (see those full payouts here).

Now, Tito Ortiz — who headlined Golden Boy MMA’s first-ever mixed martial arts (MMA) fight card alongside Chuck Liddell — is offering his two cents. Taking to Instagram, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” thanked White for all he did for him during his career, but also took a jab at him for not giving him and “The Iceman” a piece of the $4 billion pie.

@DanaWhite -I appreciate everything you have done for the me & the sport, in my humble opinion I don’t feel Chuck & I were compensated correctly for all that we gave & sacrificed for the company. When you sold the company for over 4.5 billion dollars how much of that did Chuck and I get ? Nothing.... I’m trying to build something new and rewarding for the sport! This is not about you, it is not about me... I want it to be about the fighters & giving them the opportunity to share in all the rewards this business has to offer to where they don’t have to fight when they are 43 & 48. @GoldenBoyBoxing @UFC

Ortiz — who defeated Liddell via first-round knockout — earned a cool $200,000 for his services, while Chuck pocketed $250,000. Of course, that’s apart from the extra coin the pair are set to get from the revenue the show earned as part of their deals.

Ortiz retired after the fight, vowing to stay in the game as a promoter to find new talent and to continue to pay fighters their worth. As for his latest dig at White, it won’t do much to fully mend their rocky past, but it seems “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is riding with his new business partner when it comes to fighter pay.
