Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight, Rachael Ostovich, was hospitalized on Sunday in Hawaii after suffering “major injuries” in an attack so serious, Honolulu police have opened a felony domestic abuse investigation.
That’s according to a report from TMZ, which also suggests the former Invicta FC standout, who transitioned to UFC after a stint on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 26, may have suffered a broken orbital bone.
If so, then her scheduled showdown against Paige VanZant is in serious jeopardy. They’re expected to do battle at the promotion’s upcoming debut on ESPN+ on Jan. 19, 2019 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Ostovich (4-4) split her first two fights under the UFC banner. After tapping out Karine Gevorgyan at last December’s live TUF finale, the 27 year-old Hawaiian got choked into submission by Montana De La Rosa back in July.
