Rising light heavyweight prospect Johnny Walker looked outstanding in his Octagon debut last night (Sat., Nov. 17, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 140 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Parque Roca Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when he viciously stopped 205-pound finisher Khalil Rountree via first-round KO (elbow).
There was no feeling out period for the 25-year-old Brazilian as he blasted Rountree with a head kick in the early going. Walker followed his efforts up with strong clinch work that allowed him to score a devastating short elbow that sent Rountree crashing to the canvas. A few more violent bows spelled the end for Rountree and the arrival of Walker.

With this performance, Walker has now finished 12 out of 14 career wins by way of knockout. He also proves yet again that a fighter from “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series” can make an immediate impact in UFC, sort of like Sean O’Malley at bantamweight. It will be very interesting to see Walker and his 6’6” frame make way up the light heavyweight ladder, especially if he keeps overwhelming opponents like this.
