UFC Fight Night 140 results: Johnny Walker elbows Khalil Rountree for first-round KO

Light heavyweight action fighters Khalil Rountree and Johnny Walker faced off tonight (Saturday, November 17, 2018) from inside Parque Roca Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, live and free on Fox Sports 1. Rountree was coming off a knockout win over kickboxing great Gokhan Saki, while Walker was a promotional newcomer after appearing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.

Both men began the fight bouncing on the outside, looking for their opening. The karate influence was evident for both men. Rountree landed an outside leg kick. Walker three a front kick to the midsection. Two minutes in, and two strikes thrown, but then Walker high kicked into a blitz. Rountree responded as they clinched, but Walker got a Thai plum, both hands behind the head, and landed an elbow that melted Rountree! Khalil went down and Johnny Walker landed a couple punches to seal the deal. He did a flip in celebration- Johnny Walker is one to keep an eye on at light heavyweight.

The post-fight interview was awkward, as Walker didn’t understand Jimmy Smith’s question, but then afterwards he smiled into the camera and asked Dana to put his character into the UFC video game.

Official result: Johnny Walker def. Khalil Rountree via KO (elbow) at 1:57 of Round 1
