If rising featherweight contender Yair Rodriguez was hoping to capitalize on his thrilling knockout win over Chan Sung Jung (watch it), which took place in the UFC Fight Night 139 main event last Sat. night (Nov. 10, 2018) in Denver, Colorado, then he’s going to have to wait several months.
You can thank “Korean Zombie” for that.
“No serious injuries, just my nose is broken,” Rodriguez told The Ariel Helwani MMA Show. “I’m trying to take care of my body for the next couple months, I think.”
Rodriguez also revealed that he suffered from liver and kidney issues in the weeks leading up to his Octagon return, but had no concrete explanation as to how or why he fell ill. Regardless, “Pantera” — who just saw a jump in the featherweight rankings — will be sidelined for the remainder of 2018, at the very least.
