Former Ultimate Fighter alum John Gunther didn’t stand much of a chance against Brazilian submission specialist Davi Ramos earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 10, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 139 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, as Ramos finished Gunther via rear-naked choke just under two minutes into the first round.
It wasn’t much of a feeling out process as Ramos quickly shot in for takedown and put Gunther on his butt. From there, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert effortlessly transitioned to back control and started to threaten with a rear-naked choke. Gunther defended for a bit before Ramos sunk his arm under the neck and started to squeeze.

With this performance, Ramos improves his overall professional MMA record to 9-2 and locks down his third-straight submission victory under UFC rule. If the Brazilian is going to run through lightweight competition like this then maybe it’s time for ‘Tasmanian Devil’ to test the likes of the top 15.
