Let’s get right to what could be the best post-fight interview of all time.
Joe Rogan: “I’m here with the winner, Derrick Lewis. Derrick, why’d you take your pants off?”
Derrick Lewis, in his boxers: “My balls was hot.”
Joe Rogan: “I understand.”
Lewis was fresh off his crazy, come-from-behind knockout win over Alexander Volkov on the UFC 229 pay-per-view (PPV) main card (watch the highlights here), which took place last Saturday night (Oct. 6, 2018) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And despite the victory over “Drago” (recap) moving him into prime position for a heavyweight title shot, the No. 2-ranked “Black Beast” appears to be in no hurry to challenge for the division crown, currently held by Daniel Cormier.
“I need to sit my black ass down and do some more cardio,” Lewis said regarding his next fight inside the Octagon. “Fuck what you talkin’ ‘bout right now. I ain’t trying to fight for no title right now with no gas tank like that, shit.”

The end of the night was fucked up, but I choose to think about this moment when I remember this event. That, and all the other great fights. Even the main event was awesome up until the disaster after the tap. Either way, @thebeastufc had the best post fight interview ever, and he’s got the best Instagram page out of any fighter in the sport.
Never change, Derrick Lewis, never change.
