Hey, remember the “weasel” who trolled UFC and Conor McGregor?
Stephen Espinoza, President of Showtime Sports, is back in front of the camera to lend his prediction for the upcoming UFC 229 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, and not surprisingly, he’s siding with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
I guess he doesn’t like “ass-kissers” either.
“It is McGregor fight week,” Espinoza told Fight Hub TV. “I’ll be wearing my Khabib t-shirt, going to a bar, and rooting on Khabib. I think it’s an intriguing fight. Nothing personal against Conor, in terms of one of the superstars of the sport, I’d love to see some fresh blood there.”
In other news, Dana White thinks he’s “full of shit.”
Espinoza, on tour for the upcoming Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury bout, became the promotion’s mortal enemy for no other reason than being part of the team responsible for promoting Floyd Mayweather — and the entire sport of boxing — when “Money” battled “Notorious” back in summer 2017.
So, as you might expect from both sides, there was a tug-of-war as to who had the better fighter, as well as the better promoter. I’m not sure why McGregor and Co. were so shocked that a Showtime exec was pro-Mayweather, but it sure was fun to watch.
