The big boys look to shake Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., this Saturday (Nov. 3, 2018) when UFC Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier looks to defend his title against Derrick Lewis in UFC 230’s pay-per-view (PPV) main event. Meanwhile, 80 pounds south, former Middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, takes on Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend “Jacare” Souza and iron-tough submission artist Dave Branch faces the heavy-handed Jared Cannonier.
UFC 230 is certainly an oddball event, but that doesn’t mean we can’t wring some dough out of it. Let’s begin!
What Went Wrong at UFC Fight Night 138?
Nothing — a rare 3-0, with only one controversial decision in the bunch. Let’s keep it up.
UFC 230 Odds For The Undercard:
Jason Knight (-260) vs. Jordan Rinaldi (+220)
Sijara Eubanks (-475) vs. Roxanne Modafferi (+380)
Julio Arce (-335) vs. Sheymon Moraes (+275)
Lyman Good (-600) vs. Ben Saunders (+450)
Lando Vannata (-300) vs. Matt Frevola (+250)
Shane Burgos (-310) vs. Kurt Holobaugh (+255)
Montel Jackson (-130) vs. Brian Kelleher (+110)
Adam Wieczorek (-220) vs. Marcos Rogério de Lima (+180)
Thoughts: Yeah, I got nothin.’ I legitimately cannot find a strong bargain here. Montel Jackson opened as an underdog, which would have been nice, but that’s no longer on the table. A smidgen on Sheymon Moraes could work, though, as the Brazilian looked sharp against another good prospect in Matt Sayles earlier this year.
UFC 230 Odds For The Main Card:
Daniel Cormier (-700) vs. Derrick Lewis (+500)
Chris Weidman (-160) vs. Ronaldo Souza (+140)
David Branch (-360) vs. Jared Cannonier (+300)
Karl Roberson (-270) vs. Jack Marshman (+230)
Israel Adesanya (-320) vs. Derek Brunson (+260)
Thoughts: Again, nothing that particularly stands out. I thought of recommending a bet on Weidman, but “Jacare” still hits plenty hard and only needs a moment on the ground to finish things. You could maybe parlay Karl Roberson, who’s up against a very limited foe in Jack Marshman, with Shane Burgos or any of the other huge favorites on the card.
UFC 230 Best Bets:
- Single bet -- Sheymon Moraes: Bet $20 to make $55
- Parlay -- Shane Burgos and Karl Roberson: Bet $40 to make $32.52
UFC 230 will be a spectacle, if nothing else, and whether that’s worth $65 is up to you. See you Saturday, Maniacs!
