Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cage this Saturday night (Oct. 6, 2018) as he attempts to dethrone current Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov from the 155-pound throne.
Naturally, with the large presence of “Notorious” looming over the event it catches everyone’s attention, including his old friends over at the Mayweather Boxing Club. In fact, several members of the famed camp took time to give their predictions for the upcoming championship bout, set to go down inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Conor got scared of me, the one Floyd whooped. I can walk up to Conor with nothing happening,” said Floyd Mayweather Sr. of his new-found respect for Conor. “McGregor might whoop his ass.”
In the end, the final tally was eight votes for Conor, seven for Khabib, though half of the voting field admitted they have never seen Nurmagomedov fight or knew who he was. So there’s that.
Nevertheless, we are only a few days away from one of the biggest fights in recent memory as “The Eagle” looks to solidify his status as lightweight champion while “Notorious” attempts to reclaim a title he never truly lost inside the cage. Whether or not it actually scores three million PPV buys, remains to be seen.
